Botox® is a cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, or Onobotulinumtoxin A, a neurotoxin used to "freeze" muscles. Botox is not only a great way to smooth wrinkles on your face, it is also a simple way to prevent the formation or deepening of certain types of wrinkles, and it can even stop armpit sweating for months! Botox serves to give your face a smoother and younger look. Arrange an appointment for a free check-up and find out the best solution for you!
In addition to reducing facial wrinkles, Botox can also be used for problems such as excessive sweating, migraine, eye twitching, jaw pain and overactive neck muscles. Some people may also receive Botox injections to soften a square jaw line, smooth out dimples in the the chin, or correct an excessive “gummy” smile.
Hyaluronic dermal fillers are one of the most popular preparations used in aesthetic medicine. The fillers are designed to treat all areas of the face. They are used to make up for lost volume, i.e. to contour the cheeks, volumise and lift the face, and they also soften rough facial lines, correct eyelids and fill lips. The treatment is practically pain-free, and the application of fillers is simple. They are not permanent and last from 6 to 12 months. In our clinic we use top brands such as: Neauvia® (organic), Restylan® and Teoxanne®.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural ingredient which is produced in our body and its main function is to maintain a youthful facial appearance and the skin in general. As we age, the production of key substances in the skin, including hyaluronic acid (along with collagen and elastin), decreases. As a result, our skin loses volume, hydration and elasticity. The acid attracts water, allowing the skin to become more hydrated. It is used in beauty and care products, and is produced in the laboratory through a process called biofermentation.
Botox session results are usually seen after 14 days, but you can see the results as early as three days after the treatment. When the Botox starts to work on the treated areas, you will see that the lines to soften and wrinkles decrease. Depending on the strength of your wrinkles and the surface you want to treat, you may need more than one Botox session to achieve the desired results.
Because the needle used for the injection is thin, no numbness or anesthesia is usually required. Your doctor will be able to accurately pinpoint the points on your face that require an injection, so it can be a quick procedure that is almost painless.
There is no recovery time after Botox treatment. Immediately after treatment, you may feel remaining pain or swelling around the injection site, but it is important not to rub or massage the area to prevent the migration or movement of the Botox. Some people find it useful to put on a cold compress or take a painkiller that can be bought without a prescription such as Ibruprofen to reduce swelling and discomfort, but any discomfort usually disappears within 24 hours of treatment.
